OSSSC Jr Clerk : An important Post with only Salary of Rs. 8880/- !!!

OSSSC Junior Clerk Salary Promotion Selection Process

The Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission commonly known as OSSSC pronounced like brother of OSSC : ) has been in functional mode since 2012, but before 2015, I mean before the recruitment of Jr Clerk by OSSSC, most of the candidates of Odisha don't know OSSSC, they usually have the idea of only OSSC (widely used and highest ever spoken word amongst the well qualified Graduates of Odisha).

Mission of this commission is to provide quality manpower to all Group-C designations (only contractual no permanent) for all district offices of Government of Odisha, like the word "Sub-Ordinate" implies but it doesn't mean that OSSSC only recruits Group-C posts, the OSSC does it as well. However, as OSSC recruits a lot more different higher grade positions for different departments, it has not the word "Sub-Ordinate" in its name.

OSSSC Junior Clerk District Wise Vacancy

Vacancies of Jr. Clerk and Jr. Assistant are divided into district wise and one candidate can compete from his native district only

The Commission invited applications for Jr. Clerks two time before, first in 2015 then 2018. I have an experience of this exam when i got qualified for Computer Skill Test in 2015, i had applied for Ganjam District. After clearing written exam there 500+ candidates were selected for computer skill test. As i have a good knowledge over computer practical, easily attended all the questions but later in final cut off i was missed with some marks.

In that year, there was a very good number of vacancy but no of students sitting in exam also very high. After not being selected in that exam, i was quite happy because exam has been conducted very smoothly and in a short period of time, not like OSSC.

OSSSC brings huge vacancies in its every recruitment, like in 2015, vacancies were 800 nos and in 2018 it was 1746 including vacancies of SC/ST Special Drive posts.

Hence in coming year, chances are high that OSSSC will come with more vacancies as there been 2 years from arising of COVID pandemic, and recruitment processes have been slowed down. Less vacancies only from health sector is being conducted.

It is a fact that in Odisha, vacancies for Administrative Posts like Jr. Clerk, Jr. Assistant, Stenographer etc. always very less. OSSSC is only the Commission who gives our Odisha Students more opportunities by bringing more vacancies.

OSSSC Junior Clerk Selection Process

Selection Process of Jr Clerk or Jr Assistant starts from the Written Test & Essay & Letter writing, then Practical Skill Test of Computer Basic Skill and after completing these tests marks of contractual work experience in Govt of Odisha will be taken into consideration and final merit list will be prepared.
